Farewell and Carter's 98.4% off

The coupon princess of DC has moved to Florida. I'm ending this blog. As a farewell, here's my haul at Carter's today.

3 pk of socks
2 waterproof bibs
1 one piece jumper

Regular price total $46
I paid 70 cents.
Savings 98.4%

I used their stamp promo and collected stamp cards from friends and family who didn't want, or wouldn't use them.

Not bad for overpriced baby stuff.

Cvs 70% off

Thanks to a small DC couponing area group on Facebook, I got a heads up on a good Olay deal. The face wipes (which I love and have used for years) were on sale for $3.99 (Regular price $6.39) and there was a coupon in this weeks Sunday paper: buy one facial cleanser, get a free body wash (up to $8.99). Additionally, the body wash was on sale for $6.99 (regular price $8.99) with $2 extra bucks returned. So the total cost for both items was 3.99 with $2 EB for use on the next purchase. My only regret is that the cashier used the sale price of $6.99 instead of the coupon max of $8.99. Most cashiers just use the max. I could've saved another $2.

As I mentioned, I love those face wipes and $3.99 is the quarterly low price (the once a year low is $2.99) So I went through my stash and found 3 more coupons for $1 off an Olay product. That's less than half off of the regular price.

I also got an instant print CVS coupon for $2 off of a Revlon product. Revlon lip/eye stuff was buy 1 get $4 EB. So on an $8 lip balm (new color burst lip butter) I paid $6 and got $4 EB for use on my next purchase. Effective price of $2 is 75% off retail. I only wish I could've found a regular $1 off Revlon in my stash.

The Dawn was $99 and I had $0.50 off coupons. The All detergent was on sale for half price ($4, regular price $7.99). Of course I had $1 off coupons :)

Cvs 80% savings

This week the CVS flyer matched well with the Sunday paper coupons. They had an extra bucks special where if you spent $12 on certain products (all of which had coupons in this weeks paper) you would get $6 in extra bucks on your receipt.

For this deal I bought toothpaste, deodorant and a tooth brush. The deodorant had a buy one get one free coupon (value up to $3.99) which the cashier interpreted as $3.99 off even though the deodorant only cost $1.99 each. So the deodorants were absolutely free even before factoring in the extras bucks. Cash due: $12.35 value of coupons and extra bucks $10.99.

I also bought dish washing liquid which was on sale for $.99 with a coupon for $1 off of 2.

Lastly -- and this should have been first -- I've been dying to dye my hair and I cannot wait for my brand to go on sale. I used a $10 extra bucks from participating on the CVS survey panel and paid full price (yikes!) I also forgot to use my bag tag which was one scan away from a $1 extra bucks coupon. Hence my overall savings was 80% instead of 95% :)

Cash paid: $10.15
Value of items: $48.91

Free Cottonelle, CVS Seasonal EB and survey EB

93% savings

Recently I joined CVS's advisor panel. By joining I answer a few surveys per year and they give me $10 in CVS extra bucks (EB) per survey. If youd'd like to join go to https://www.cvsadvisor.com

Additionally, it's seasonal extra bucks time--Quarterly CVS give us 2% of our purchases back as extra bucks.

I also had $1 in extra bucks from my use of my green bag tag ($1 for every 4 uses).

So--armed with $16 in EB I bought 18 rolls of toilet paper and a box of wipes. I paid $1.14. I feel bad about having paid $1 because I should've had a cottonelle coupon - but there have been no TP coupons in the papers for the past three weeks!

Happy shopping!
